Sesssion Overview
Police Officers perform varied duties and on occasion are expected to intervene in physical confrontations or resolve conflict situations. For example, it may be necessary to take control of physically violent suspects. This involves moving quickly to the scene of the problem, taking control (physically if necessary) and then removing the offender(s) from the area to ensure safety for all.
This test is conducted in a gymnasium. Requirements slightly differ between PARE / POPAT. The course consists of running 400 metres (1/4 mile) that includes climbing up and down stairs, controlled falls, jumping over low obstacles, hurdles, and mats, and pushing and pulling 36kg (80 lbs) of resistance. You also must lift and carry weight for distance. It is apparent that participants experience maximum heart rate during this test. It is designed to encourage you to work at your maximum physical abilities. Check with Athleta Training for official pass times.
